Come and Visit Your Patients

Very few community providers still round on their inpatients today. However, Cincinnati Children’s welcomes any community PCP that would like to visit their patients while at the medical center. A policy was recently reviewed to ensure a smooth process when visiting your patient. If you are a PCP and would like to visit a patient either at the main campus or Liberty, please note the following guidelines:

  • You have a Cincinnati Children’s blue or green badge: There is no need to stop at a Welcome Center/Registration Desk and you may proceed to the patient’s room. Please note that any member of the medical staff may have a green badge. If you do not have one and would like one, please reach out to your physician liaison.

  • You do not have a Cincinnati Children’s badge: Please stop by the Welcome Center/Registration Desk and provide an ID. If you are listed as the patient’s PCP in Epic, the Welcome Cetner staff will provide you with a badge and direct you to the patient’s room.  If you are not listed in Epic as the PCP, the Welcome Center staff will call the unit/family to get permission for you to visit. Once permission is granted, you will be badged and sent to the patient’s room. Your name will be documented in the chart to make it easier for you to return.

We hope to see you within the walls of Cincinnati Children’s soon!
